This wasn't going to be too bad. Dig three holes, stick the trees in and then posthole six holes for perferated pipe. Shari helped get the trees out of their 15 gallon containers and into the holes. Piece of cake.
David finished up the postholing and about that time Shari came out and asked if David knew the phone wasn't working? Oops. Must have hit the buried phone line while postholing. Didn't see any evidence of cable or feel anything.
Phone company came out to check and sure enough, the cable tracer put the phone cable under the last tree. Oh, well. The old phone cable has been in the ground since the mid 1960s, so, let's go back with fiber. Phone company says no way. Neighborhood not ready for fiber yet.
Sub contractor came out to do the trenching for the new phone line which, by the way, originates in a neighbor's yard and then distributes to four houses. We now have video and photos of where the new phone line will be and David can dig to his heart's content. Just check before digging!
