The house remodel continues. We need to do the kitchen floor before putting the appliances in, so, we might as well get the other floor areas prepped for new covering. We rented an electric tile stripper for the job from BS&E.
Sucker was heavy and fiesty. David fought the stripper for about seven hours. Whooped him. Got the entry way, family room and dining room. Found out that to get the linoleum up, we had to score it in four inch strips. Otherwise, it was a real battle. Normal tile squares came up without much of a fight.
The directions for the stripper mention that it is best to take a fighter's stance when operating the machine. One leg in front of the other. They were right. That allows you to get out of the way when the stripper decides it wants to shift to reverse and climb your leg!
You want to get all the linoleum adhesive up and have clean concrete to work with? Forget it. That's another two full days worth of work and that's not happening around here.
