Things Are Slowing Down

We haven't been on a day trip in quit awhile. Sometime in 2007 actually. Mainly been the house remodel that has us home squatting. The remodel is still a work in progress albeit at a much slower pace now. We have a fully functional kitchen as of two weeks ago after going almost six months without.

Shari is in the process of putting in tile for the kitchen counter backsplash. It appears it will be a work of art. Right now, the outside temperature is around 98 F and she's outside cutting tile. Water squirts out wetting her stomach, so I guess that may help keep her cool. At least it keeps the sliding glass door from getting wet!

I'm not stupid, I'm inside listening to music and cooling my heels. Been downloading bands from archive.org like Derek Trucks Band, Ekoostik Hookah, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, moe, and Umphreys McGee. Yes folks, there is free music out there! Never heard of them? I hadn't either until I started searching on Warren Haynes of Gov't Mule and found that these other bands play with Warren at his benefits.

Taylor is San Diego with friends watching a volleyball tournament. What timing! Taylor just called. 105 F in San Diego! Taylor told Shari she got pretty banged up body surfing today. Brooklyn is spending the night with a friend and then heading for Ventura tomorrow for an all-day concert of bands. Gov't Mule will be in Ventura on June 28th.

David ate the first tomato of the season today from one of the plants Dad gave him. The thing had flavor unlike the store-bought ones. Looks like there may be a couple more ready tomorrow. And yes, did see a worm the other day. Little bitty one, but, here come the worms. Which reminds me of caterpillars. There have been butterflies flapping around the passion vine, but, the caterpillars have not been devistating the vine like they did last year. I guess that is a good thing because the flowers keep blooming and that makes the bumble bees happy. If the bumble bees are happy, I'm happy because they are not chasing me.
