In the world of Windows, a browser is a program that allows you to view pages written in hypertext markup language or HTML for short. Where do you find these pages and a browser? Well, you are reading an HTML page right now with your browser. Really? The program window that pops up when you go to view files on the internet is a browser. Browsers come in different flavors. Microsoft Internet Explorer is associated with Windows. Netscape is widely utilized by Windows users. There is even one called Opera making some headway into the Windows world.
Lots of Internet Service Providers (ISP) take Internet Explorer or Netscape and tweak them to perform the way they would like. AOL is a good example!

For more information on browers and browsing, click the Windows Start button and choose Help. Select the Index tab and type one of the above in as a keyword. It's that simple!
