Went to the Kern County Fair with the Crowthers. Both dads were suffering from head colds. Lots of meds and beer seemed to do the trick. The weather was exceptional. Low 70's compared to the normal high 90's. Made it a very pleasant experience. Saw the animals. Taylor wasn't nearly as afraid of the sheep this year. Watched the All Alaskan Racing Pigs, Kids rides. Kids Corner where the kids made hands-on crafts and looked at the ostrich exhibit. Visited the Great American Petting Zoo. Listened to 11-yr-old Katie McCullar belt out tunes at the Goode Time Theater. The dads went to hear Peter Frampton at the Grandstand while the women stayed to listen to JJ signing 50's and 60's tunes.

The annual trek through the kids rides resulted in massive sinus drainage due to dust and dried grass. Aaaachoooo!
