Ernie the bird is about 16 yrs. old. He used to come out of his cage until the cats, Benny and Bunky jawed him a couple of times; now he just hisses through the bars. Ernie has outlived the two cats. However, not wanting to deprive him of his feline interest, we have accumlated three more cats.
Three cats; Kirby, Sassy and Chance. The cats have grown up with Gus the dog and all have a good rapport - they all think they're dogs. Whistle and everyone comes running. Gus can't quite accept the fact that his size has made the cats a little reluctant to rumble and tumble like they used to when they were little. Any time a stray cat wanders into the yard, we have one dog and three "I'm a dog" cats chasing the intruder.
The kids are always asking for more puppies and kittens. They don't feed or play with the ones they've got. Doesn't matter! Want more puppies and kittens; and if that Goldfish ever croaks, how about a Sturgeon.
