Had to bail the dog out of the canine hoosegow!
David gets a call from an unhappy Shari.
"The backyard gates are open and the dog is gone.
You check the SPCA on the way home and I'll look around the neighborhood."
The gardner left the gates open and Gus must have seen his chance.
'Course, being in a new neighborhood and not being familiar with the lay of the land, he wandered off.
David stopped at the SPCA and with much relief, a forlorn Gus was sitting in a pen.
The SPCA said they found him about three blocks away from the house with a bunch of other delinquent runaways.
I wonder if the gardners are getting a kickback?
$45 to bail him out and an appearance in Court for an Unleased and Unlicensed Dog.
Yep, his license had expired much like Dad's vehicle license episode last year - but, that's another story.
Well, David quickly found out that the SPCA doesn't take checks and he didn't have cash, MasterCard or VISA; had American Express.
Telephone call to Shari.
Left a message.
Shari called back and we struck a deal.
Shari would bail out the dog and David would pick up the kids.
Later, Shari said Gus was extremely happy to see her.
We've decided that Gus stays in the house on gardner day.
