Goodbye Kirby!
July 16, 1999

It just doesn't get better than this!Kirby bit the big one today! A neighbor found him sprawled out on her driveway looking like he was in a peaceful sleep. David got choked up! He was one pet we thoroughly thanked Grandma for bringing to us. Kirby was a "7-11" kitten. Grandma and Shari's nephew, Aaron, found him at a local store and asked if we wanted another cat. He grew up to be a whopper but still had all the characteristics of a kitten. And this cat was mellow. None of that skittish hyper cat stuff; except when he wanted to play.

Kirby next to his namesakeKirby's favorite toy was David. Kirby would get that little mischievous twinkle in his eyes, start prancing around, nibble on David's ankles and then chase David through the house batting at his legs. After catching his "toy", "Attack Cat" would start gnawing on David's legs. We're going to miss that warm body especially on cold winter nights when he would snuggle up.
